Our First Show of 2019!

By Frank Marcus
Directed by Wayne Sheridan

Tuesday, 19th – Saturday, 23rd February 2019, 8 pm

June Buckridge is the star of BBC’s popular radio series Applehurst. As Sister George, she is a beloved nurse who ministers to the medical and personal needs of the villagers. In real life, June is a gin-guzzling, cigar-chomping, sadistic lady, the antithesis of the sweet character she plays. She lives with Alice “Childie” McNaught, a younger, dim-witted woman she verbally and physically abuses. When June discovers her character is to be killed off, she becomes increasingly impossible to work and live with. Enter Madame Xenia to try to smooth things over and radio station exec, Mercy Croft, who is supposedly there to help, but actually has an agenda of her own.

  • June/George: Karen Peters-Parker
  • Alice/Childie: Freya Finnerty
  • Mercy Croft: Zoe Farrow
  • Madame Xenia: Alison Driscoll
