Club Rules
Members agree to abide by the rules set out below in order to hold membership of Beckenham Theatre:
- Bar Opening Times
Bar opening times are those granted by the Club Premises Certificate. Service outside these agreed hours is illegal.
- Supply of Alcohol
Under the rules of Beckenham Theatre Centre the following is permitted:
- The supply of alcohol by or on behalf of the Club to, or to the order of members of the Club.
- The sale by retail of alcohol by or on behalf of the Club to a guest of a member of the Club for consumption on the premises where the sale takes place.
Alcohol may not be supplied to members or guests on the premises otherwise than by or on behalf of the Club. The purchase and supply of alcohol by and for the Club is managed by the Board of Trustees which is made up of elected members of the Club all aged over 18 years. No arrangements may be made for any person to receive any commission, percentage or similar payment at the expense of the Club with reference to the purchase of alcohol by the Club. No arrangements may be made for any person to derive directly or indirectly any monetary or other form of benefit from the supply of alcohol to members or guests apart from to benefit the Club as a whole.
- Admission of Non-members
Any members of Beckenham Theatre centre may be accompanied by their spouse or partner and family when using the Club premises. Members’ guests may be admitted as long as they have been correctly signed in by that member and a Visitors’ Book shall be provided for that purpose. Members shall be responsible for their guests’ good behaviour while on the premises. A guest can either obtain alcohol by order of a members or purchase alcohol themselves providing that they have adhered to all the other rules of the Club.
- New Members
Applications for new membership must be prominently and publicly displayed in a part of the Theatre frequented by members prior to ratification by the Board of Trustees. Persons may not be admitted to membership, be admitted as candidates for membership or to any of the privileges of membership without an interval of at least two days between their nomination for membership and their admission. Any payment made with the application will be returned if the Board of Trustees rejects the application. The decision of the Board of Trustees is final.
- Children
No person under the age of 18 will:
- Be supplied with intoxicating liquor.
- Be allowed to consume intoxicating liquor.
- Dress
Members and/or their guests are expected to be suitably attired whilst on the Club premises.
- Prams, wheelchairs etc.
Prams, pushchairs or other baby carriages are permitted in the Theatre at the discretion of the Trustees. To comply with Fire Regulations they must not be parked in corridors or entrance halls or near Emergency Exits. Wheelchairs transporting disabled persons are permitted but must not block Emergency Exits.
- Publicity
No poster or notice not containing official Beckenham Theatre Centre business should be displayed on the premises without prior approval of a Trustee.
- Suggestions or Grievances
Any suggestions or grievances regarding Beckenham Theatre Centre must be submitted to the Trustees in writing. Anonymous complaints will not be considered.
- Behaviour
Members and their guests shall enter and leave the premises in an orderly manner so as to avoid any annoyance to local residents or persons in the vicinity. Members are reminded that any behaviour in the premises considered inappropriate or the use of offensive language will result in them being asked to leave the premises and they may be required to appear before the Board of Trustees to explain their behaviour.
- Property
Beckenham Theatre Centre accepts no responsibility for member’s or their guests’ property on the premises or for cars, bicycles etc. left in the Car Park.
- Damage
Members and their guests will be required to pay for any damage they cause to Club property.
